Cycling tour - climb to the top
The climb to Vršič is one of the more difficult mountain bike climbs in our country. But that's why the feeling of victory when you reach the top is even sweeter. They say that with every serpentine overcome, at least one worry disappears. But if there happens to be some left at the top, it will surely be blown away by the wind on the way down. The best cyclists win Vršič in less than an hour, and our champion Roglič in half an hour. How long will the royal climb take you? If you're a little afraid of a slope, near Apartment Gaja they offer you an e-bike rental, which will make the challenge more accessible even for those with a little less stamina. Join cycling legends in Vrišče.
Sunrise or sunset on one of the two thousands
Commenly known proverb is that the day is known by the morning. Imagine what kind of day will be ahead of you if you start it with a view of the sunrise from above 2000 meters. If you are a fan of getting up early in the morning, go to Prisank (Prisojnik) 2547m in the early hours, where you can wait for the sun in complete silence and tranquility of untamed alpine nature. Prisank also has its own natural window and is one of the largest natural openings in Slovenia. But if getting up in the middle of the night is not for you, take an early morning drive along the road of the highest Slovenian mountain pass Vršič and rest and enjoy the caress of the first morning rays. Still too early, simply replace it with sunset.
Snowshoeing under the stars
Only in winter, when nature sleeps and the number of tourists drops significantly, you will be able to feel what Peace means in the pristine nature of the Triglav National Park. When the world is covered with a blanket of snow and everything glistens in the sun's rays, we really realize how magical nature is. Frozen waterfalls become artistic sculptures and snow-covered spruce trees become snow queens. Embark on an unforgettable snowshoe tour and discover the secrets of Golden Horn's kingdom.
Cross-country skiing
There is nothing more beautiful than plowing through the winter landscape on cross-country skis. Kranjska Gora and its surroundings offer you daily groomed cross-country trails that are suitable for both beginners and more experienced cross-country skiers.
You can enjoy cross-country skiing in the Rateče-Planica ski and cross-country skiing center, and cross-country trails are also arranged in Gozd Martuljek, Mojstrana and Zgornja Radovna when there is sufficient natural snow.
Ice climbing
Ice climbing is a winter activity that gets the blood flowing in the hands and body.
Climbers must climb Lucifer at least once in their lives. This is not the entrance to hell, but the famous frozen waterfall in Gozd Martuljek. Lucifer and the other ice waterfalls below Prisank and Tamar are recommended to be visited together with a guide.
Jacob's way
The Way of Jacob or El Camino de Santiago is the collective name for several pilgrimage routes that led to the shrine of Saint Jacob in Compostela. Follow the yellow shells signs along the cycle path to Kranjska Gora, Rateče, Trbiž, Žabnica and from here all the way to Monte Santo di Lussari in Italy. You can find all the information about the route, stages, height differences, accommodation and refreshments during the route in the leaflet about the Slovenian Camino.
